Nel 2004 i Death From Above 1979 ed il loro bellissimo ‘You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine‘ furono un piccolo caso discografico. Il duo, composto da Jesse F. Keeler (Basso e Sintetizzatore) e Sebastien Grainger (Voce e Batteria), proponeva un’originale commistione fra Dance-Punk e riff scippati direttamente dal Metal. Scioltisi nel 2006, per motivi ancora non così chiari, si riunirono nel 2011 in occasione del Coachella Festival.
Oggi, la notizia più succulenta è che abbiamo a disposizione un primo singolo ‘Trainwreck 1979‘, tratto direttamente dal nuovo lavoro che vedrà la luce il 9 Settembre prossimo. Si chiamerà ‘The Physical World‘ ed uscirà sotto Last Gang Records.
No matter what Jesse [Keeler] and I do, on whatever scale of success it’s sat on, there’s always some kind of reference to Death From Above. It’s only frustrating because it’s so lazy. So we’re putting out a Death From Above record and if the press is like, ‘It’s not what we expected,’ or however they react to it, it’s like, ‘Well, you’ve been fucking asking for it.
