“Collaborating with The Pop Group is a dream come true. The track blew my mind: all the set-ups and symbols in the video are inspired on a subconscious level by the music and the lyrics. I imagined a world ruled by the colourful souls of eternal children, expressing their crazy love through art, a spiritual warfare against a world populated by the living dead. The kids that appear in the video have worked also in the last movie I directed, including my daughter Anna-Lou. Between us there is a deep bond of trust and freedom. The Pop Group hanno rivoluzionato il post-punk inglese di fine anni ’70, con i loro testi polemici e taglienti, accompagnati dall’assoluta avanguardia musicale che da sempre li contraddistingue. Dopo la ripubblicazione lo scorso ottobre di We Are Time, lo storico disco del 1980, e di Cabinet Of Curiosities, la raccolta di inediti e rarità, a distanza di 35 anni dall’ultimo album di studio, è in uscita il 23 febbraio Citizen Zombie, il nuovo disco della band guidata dal carismatico Mark Stewart. Prodotto da Paul Epworth (Adele, U2, Coldplay, Paul McCartney, Primal Scream…), Citizen Zombie esce su etichetta !K7/Audioglobe.

Citizen Zombie arriva a 35 anni di distanza dall’ultimo lavoro di studio del Pop Group. Registrato in due anni in varie location ed ultimato negli studi di Paul Epworth, fan della band da lungo tempo, il nuovo disco segna l’atteso ritorno di Mark Stewart e soci, nella loro formazione originaria (Mark Stewart: testi e voce, Dan Catsis: basso, Gareth Sager: chitarra, Bruce Smith: batteria)
