“My idea for the video was to stay away from a traditional storyline. I’d been looking at images of solitary underwater creatures and thought they paired perfectly with the song’s themes of isolation and yearning. I wanted something beautiful and solemn that would let the song breathe while adding a new dimension to the music. Seeing a single creature against an ocean of thousands spoke to me and fit so well with the lyrics. I like the idea of diving deep into the calm and colorful.”
