È in arrivo un nuovo album per i Calexico che si intitolerà Edge of the Sun, e vedrà tra i collaboratori Neko Case, Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Nick Urata (DeVotchka), Gaby Moreno e altri. L’uscita del disco, registrato a Città del Messico, è prevista per il 14 aprile. Cumbia De Donde è il singolo che anticipa l’album.
